Nach 12 Jahren ertragreichem Forschungsbetrieb stellte die kleine Fusionsanlage WEGA im IPP-Teilinstitut Greifswald 2013 den Betrieb ein. Das „Wendelstein-Experiment in Greifswald für die Ausbildung“ macht Platz für die Großanlage Wendelstein 7-X.
